Overview  -- Is Genesis For You?

We believe that the majority of our students will come from families that are not content with the status quo and are interested in a creative educational program rooted in a biblical worldview with strong Christian values.  Our staff incorporates various learning  methodologies to address individual student needs.  An emphasis on facilitating the maturity of our students  is accomplished through giving increasing responsibility and empowering students to be  independent thinkers and learners.  And each of our families embrace the truths expressed in our Statement of Faith and fully support the Genesis staff in its implementation of our school-wide discipline policy and academic programs.

Genesis Preparatory Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Genesis Preparatory Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and financial aid programs, athletic or other school administered programs.

Did you know....... that Genesis is a four day school? ( we meet Monday - Thursday)

....... that we limit our elementary class size to 18 and our middle and                                                                             high school class size to 20?

Admissions Process

The following steps describe the process that prospective families take when interested in admission for the 2008-2009 school year:

Initial Contact  Typical contact is initiated by attendance at a regularly held Parent Information Meeting, email or phone call.

School Visit --  An optional school visit is available for those who wish to tour the school or observe our classes while in session.

Completion of Enrollment Documents --  An enrollment packet may be obtained through download on the school website, attendance at an informational meeting or through the mail by request.  A separate packet is required for each student, along with a $50.00 application fee (refundable if acceptance is denied).

Family Interview --  An interview with the principal includes both parent(s) and child(ren).  During this time a series of questions will be asked as both parties try to ascertain whether Genesis is a “good fit” for the needs of the student .

Notification Of Acceptance --  Within 24 hours of the interview the family will be notified about their request for acceptance into the program.  However, a decision is often made at the conclusion of the interview.

Payment of Tuition Deposit --  The school does not have a “registration fee,” but simply one “tuition” fee that incorporates all fees and expenses.  A $500 deposit (for the first child) is due at time of acceptance and required to reserve a spot on the class roster.

Placement Testing--  A relatively short placement test will be given to each student (3rd grade and above) in math and possibly reading/comprehension.  Such testing will occur at scheduled times during the summer and after the conclusion of the school day during the school year.

Orientation Meeting -- A Family Orientation Day is scheduled for late August and all families are expected to attend.  Important information for parent and student will be shared that day, along with  fun "team-building" activities designed to deepen relationships between families and school staff.
