Hello, My name is Janelle Braithwait and I teach high school history and government at Genesis Prep. I am looking forward to another great year with the students at GPA. I was a substitute teacher for 14 years before coming on to the staff at Genesis. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a Social Sciences major and a Master of Arts in history, both from Eastern Washington University. In my classes, I try to illustrate to students how God has worked throughout the course of history and encourage them to look for His work in their study of the past. Daniel Webster once said, “He who careth not from whence he came, careth little wither he goeth.” I try to make students understand how events in the past impact their present lives and their futures. I am a twenty year resident of the Spokane Valley and am married with four children, three of whom are grown. I was born in Califonia, but was raised in the Midwest/Great Lakes area. I attend Berean Bible Church in Spokane Valley where I have also served as a Sunday School Teacher and a small group leader in their Mops program. I am also currently serving as the Chaplain of the Washington State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. |
