Greetings! My name is Rebecca Hartman, and I am a middle school teacher here at Genesis Preparatory Academy. Teaching is my passion, my mission, and my profession. As an educator, I feel truly blessed to be a part of the growing Genesis Preparatory Academy family. I look forward to the 2008-9 school year in continuing service to my Lord and to my students. Regarding my background, I am originally from Southern California, having lived in the Mojave Desert and San Diego County for about 40 years. I have also lived overseas for three years on an island, La Maddalena, Italy, where my husband of 20 years, Todd, a retired marine, was stationed on active duty. We have two grown children, Nicole (25) and Chad (21). Both of them reside in Southern California. In San Diego County, I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science, and my California Professional Clear K-8 Credential. I also began my Master's Degree in English. I taught middle school, grades 6 through 8, at a top-rated charter school in Escondido, California for five years. I also worked with independent study families and taught hands-on science for one year. Upon our relocation to North Idaho, I taught at Sylvan Learning Center for six months and River City Christian Academy for one year. I have been at Genesis Preparatory Academy since then, and am starting my third year at Genesis this fall. I have also been continuing my coursework toward my Master's Degree, with my final project in summer of 2009. I come from a family with several passionate and committed educators in it, so my becoming a teacher was a natural decision for me. |
