Dear Parents and Students: I am very excited to embark on my teaching career at Genesis Preparatory Academy. I home schooled my four children for twelve years, substituted a bit in the public school arena and recently obtained my Idaho Teacher Certification. One of my greatest desires has been to teach -- too bad I had not realized that when I was in college! God opened up other opportunities for me to pursue my passion for teaching and He has led me here. I deem this responsibility as a privilege and am anxious to begin the year! I tend to be very structured and organized and will use these skills to create a loving, secure classroom environment. I feel communication is very important in a parent/teacher and teacher/student relationship and will strive to keep it open. I have an open door policy and look forward to working with you in training your children to love the Lord and hope to instill a love for learning along the way. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Neil, for almost 21 years and we have four children: Kristine, 18; Josh, 16; Shane, 12; and Grady, 9. This year we will have one in each level of school: college, high school, junior high and elementary. We moved from Los Angeles three years ago and are members of His Place Church in Post Falls. We love our church family and are involved in a number of ministries. Christ is not just a member of our family, He is the leader. For fun I love to play at Silverwood, go floating down the CDA River, play games (Yahtzee is my favorite) and watch movies. My all-time favorite movie is “Pride and Prejudice,” the BBC version…6 hours! Our favorite family movie is “It’s A Wonderful Life.” I look forward to meeting each and every one of you! Blessings, Julie Leonard (Mrs. L) |
